The Blue Book

The Blue Book/蓝皮书 2006-2007 Photography

This is a personal journal which records my feelings, my understanding of color, image, light and shadow within the scope of photography. It is a tribune to “The Blue Book”
written by the Austrian philosopher Wittgenstein on languages and philosophy.
In some ways, it is also a language, a particular language of image and color; and my own philosophy of image making – simplicity, directness and non-existence of all boundaries.

In this series, I use a low cost plastic toy camera, Holga, for simplicity; images are shot on Kodak Ekta T slide film to obtain the tinted blue.
